Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 1, 2026
PulsarCast ("the app") is designed to respect your privacy. We don't ask you to create an account, we don't collect your name, and we don't use your data for advertising or sell it to anyone. This policy explains what information we handle and why.
What we do NOT collect
- No accounts and no sign-up: we don't ask for your name, phone, or address.
- No advertising trackers or third-party profiles.
- We never sell or share personal data.
What stays on your device
Your podcast library, your lists, downloaded episodes, and your listening progress are stored only on your iPhone. We don't upload them to any server.
Data we handle on our server
The app talks to our server (api.pulsarcast.com) only for the feature-suggestions section and for bug reports. In those cases we handle:
- An anonymous device identifier: a random code (UUID) the app generates on first launch. It's used to limit one vote per device on suggestions. It is not linked to your identity or your Apple account.
- The content you submit voluntarily: the text of the feature suggestions and bug reports you write, along with the app version. We use it to improve PulsarCast.
- Minimal technical data: to prevent abuse, the request's IP address is processed in an anonymized way (only an encrypted value is stored, never the IP in clear).
Suggestions are reviewed before they're published. You can report inappropriate content from within the app.
Podcast playback
When you add a podcast, the app connects directly to that podcast's servers (its RSS feed and audio files), which are third parties. Those connections don't go through us and are governed by each provider's privacy practices. To discover podcasts we use Apple's public search API (iTunes Search).
PulsarCast Plus subscription
Purchases and subscriptions are handled through Apple (the App Store). Payment and your financial data are managed by Apple; we never receive or store them.
Children
PulsarCast is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights
Because we don't associate data with your identity, we can't identify you from the anonymous identifier. If you contact us, we'll do our best to handle any request related to content you've submitted.
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll change the date above and publish the new version on this page.
